ITF Opens Southeast Zonal Office in Imo State

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has announced the opening of its Southeast Zonal Office in Imo State, a move designed to expand its reach and strengthen skills acquisition across the region.

At the inauguration, ITF officials explained that the new zonal office would serve as a hub for coordinating vocational and technical training programmes, industrial attachments, and skills development initiatives across the five states of the Southeast.

The decision to site the zonal office in Imo, they said, was based on the state’s strategic location and its growing industrial potential.

The Director-General of ITF, while addressing stakeholders, noted that the Fund’s mission remains focused on equipping Nigerians with practical skills to reduce unemployment and boost productivity.

He added that the Southeast, known for its entrepreneurial drive, would benefit immensely from having a central hub to channel youth training, apprenticeship schemes, and industry–academia partnerships.

In his remarks, the Governor of Imo State welcomed the development, describing it as a boost to the state’s economy and a clear recognition of the region’s role in Nigeria’s industrial growth.

He pledged full support for ITF’s programmes, assuring that the state government would partner with the agency to ensure young people take full advantage of the opportunities.

Business leaders and youth representatives at the event also expressed optimism that the new zonal office would bring training closer to local industries and empower graduates and artisans with relevant skills for the modern economy.

The establishment of the ITF Southeast Zonal Office in Imo adds to the Fund’s growing network of zonal headquarters across the country, reinforcing its commitment to human capital development and industrial advancement.
