Yilwatda Assumes Office, Declares APC’s 2027 Victory a ‘Done Deal’

Newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that the party will achieve a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections, declaring the future of the ruling party as secure and expansive.

Yilwatda made this bold declaration during his first official meeting with members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat, Muhammadu Buhari House, shortly after being sworn in at the Aso Villa on Thursday.

“We will expand beyond bounds. I’m sure by God’s grace, the 2027 is a done deal for APC,” Yilwatda told party executives and supporters, as he commenced his tenure as the 7th national chairman of the party.

The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation arrived at the secretariat around 4:10 p.m., accompanied by key NWC members. He was warmly received by enthusiastic party staff, supporters, and a forum of state chairmen, setting the tone for what he described as a new phase of reinvigoration for the APC.

Addressing the NWC, Yilwatda likened the party to a vehicle, asserting that the leadership team must act as mechanics ready to fine-tune it for long-term success.

“All of us here, especially the National Working Committee members, we are the mechanics, the party is a vehicle. We will fix it. We will drive it. We will work it out and ensure that we get to the destination of our choice,” he said. “This party will be great. This party will be the joy and pride of the entire nation.”

Reaffirming the APC’s dominant position on the national stage, Yilwatda emphasized the growing profile of the party, saying it will attract more political leaders across all levels of government.

“Our doors are open to welcome new members. We look forward to having more governors, more senators, more National Assembly members, more local government chairmen, and more members into our party,” he said.

Yilwatda also extended appreciation to Nigerians for their continued support of the APC, assuring party faithful that his administration will build a united and inclusive political platform ahead of the next electoral cycle.

His remarks signaled a clear intention to consolidate power while expanding the party’s reach across the country as the countdown to 2027 begins.
