Police Nab Three Suspects Over Kogi Teacher’s Tragic Killing

Police in Kogi State have arrested three people for the brutal beating that led to the death of a dedicated school teacher, Maryam Usman.

Officers tracked down and caught the main suspect, Abdullahi Ishaka, along with two women who had run away after the attack. The entire Olamaboro local community has been left in deep shock and sorrow over the terrible news.

Trouble started at Brains Minds Nursery and Primary School because of an argument over a student being disciplined. According to police spokesperson Afusat Oyiza Salihu, Abdullahi Ishaka and the two women marched onto the school grounds and violently attacked Maryam Usman. The teacher was badly injured during the fight and sadly died a week later at the hospital.

The loss of the popular teacher has made parents, community leaders, and fellow educators very angry. Colleagues described her as a gentle soul and expressed worry that teachers are no longer safe at work, insisting that schools must be protected from outside violence.

Local leaders are now asking for strict rules to heavily punish anyone who threatens school workers.

To keep the peace and stop any revenge attacks, extra police officers have been sent to patrol the town. The police thanked local residents who called in with tips that helped them catch the suspects before they could escape to another state.

Officials emphasized that the public’s help is always the best tool for solving crimes quickly.

Detectives are currently finishing up their paperwork to send the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department. The state government has sent its condolences to Maryam’s family and promised to make sure the suspects face justice in court. The community is now waiting for the trial to start so the late teacher can get the justice she deserves.
