Sowore Skeptical over Coalition, Says People Who Ruined Nigeria Claiming to be Saviours

Nigerian politician and activist, Omoyele Sowore has expressed skepticism about the viability of a new opposition coalition in Nigeria. In a recent interview, Sowore questioned the logic of forming an alliance with individuals who were previously associated with the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sowore specifically mentioned names such as Nasir El-Rufai and Mike Ozekhome, among others, who were part of the Buhari government. He expressed doubts about the coalition’s chances of success, citing Nigerians’ short memory span when it comes to recalling past politicians’ actions.
The activist implied that the coalition’s members might eventually return to their old ways, rendering the alliance ineffective. Sowore’s comments reflect growing concerns about the country’s political landscape and the challenges of forming a united opposition to challenge the ruling party.
Sowore’s criticism highlights the need for Nigerians to hold their leaders accountable and demand transparency and accountability in governance. As the country approaches the 2027 general elections, the opposition’s ability to unite and present a strong alternative to the ruling party will be crucial in determining the country’s future.
