Odii Pledges Reforms in Ebonyi Healthcare, Education, Agriculture

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has pledged to reposition the healthcare, education and agriculture sectors if elected governor in the February 6, 2027 election.

Odii made the promise while addressing PDP members at a meeting in Abakaliki on Thursday, where he also called for inclusive governance and said his campaign would focus on issues rather than personal attacks.

He said Ebonyi belonged to its people and questioned why the affairs of millions of residents should be determined by a few individuals.

The PDP candidate urged his supporters to maintain peaceful conduct throughout the campaign, saying there would be no room for hate, intimidation, harassment or violence.

He also warned against attacks on citizens because of their political affiliations, stressing that no political ambition was worth the loss of any life.

Odii alleged that hunger and poverty were being used by the current ruling class to push young people into political thuggery and electoral malpractice. He called instead for policies that would provide youths with dignity, support and opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods.

He said his proposed administration would draw from his A Promise of Possibility blueprint, with a focus on addressing poverty and improving conditions across key sectors.

Odii said his broader vision was to develop Ebonyi into an industrialised, innovation-driven and investment-ready economy, with priorities including accountable governance, infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, enterprise development and social justice.

He added that the proposed administration would seek to create economic opportunities and improve the welfare of residents across communities in the state.

Odii has previously outlined economic diversification, industrialisation, infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and institutional reforms among the areas covered by his campaign agenda.
