Presidential candidate Peter Obi has declared that he is prepared to make every sacrifice necessary to protect the votes of Nigerians in the 2027 general elections, insisting that voter intimidation must not be allowed to undermine the democratic process.

Speaking at a town hall meeting, Obi urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and actively participate in safeguarding their votes, stressing that elections should reflect the genuine will of the people. He maintained that citizens must not be discouraged or intimidated from exercising their constitutional rights at polling units.

According to him, the era when voters could be frightened away from polling stations should come to an end, adding that democracy can only thrive when citizens are free to vote without fear or coercion.

Obi called on supporters and Nigerians generally to remain committed to peaceful participation in the electoral process while ensuring that every lawful vote counts.

The former Anambra State governor emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, urging citizens to protect the integrity of elections through lawful and democratic means.

His remarks come amid increasing political activities and consultations ahead of the 2027 elections, with major political figures and parties intensifying efforts to mobilise support across the country.

Obi expressed confidence that greater voter awareness, participation and vigilance would strengthen Nigeria’s democracy and help ensure that electoral outcomes truly reflect the wishes of the electorate.
