Hold Me Accountable If I Fail as Governor, Adekanbi Tells Oyo Voters

The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Adebayo Adekanmbi, has urged residents to hold him accountable if he fails to deliver on his promises should he be elected governor in 2027.

Adekanmbi said leadership must be measured by performance and results, stressing that public office holders should be prepared to answer to the people who entrusted them with power. He maintained that he is ready to be judged based on his achievements and commitment to good governance.

According to him, voters deserve leaders who are transparent, responsible and willing to accept criticism when expectations are not met. He emphasized that accountability remains a key pillar of effective governance and democratic development.

The APM candidate also outlined his vision for Oyo State, promising policies aimed at economic growth, job creation, improved infrastructure and better public services.

He called on residents to carefully assess candidates seeking elective positions and support leaders with practical plans for addressing the state’s challenges.

Adekanmbi further assured voters that his administration would prioritize transparency, citizen engagement and people-oriented programmes if elected.

The remarks come as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, with aspirants intensifying consultations and campaigns across the state.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Oyo voters to make informed decisions and reiterated his commitment to serving the state with integrity and dedication if given the mandate.
