Ini Dima-Okojie, Husband Welcome Baby Boy in Emotional Birthday Announcement
Nollywood actress, Ini Dima-Okojie has welcomed her first child, a baby boy, and marked the occasion with an emotional post on her social media pages that doubled as a birthday announcement, revealing that the arrival of her son has transformed the meaning of the day she was born.
In a departure from her tradition of elaborate birthday photoshoots and themed celebrations, the actress shared a photograph taken on the day her son was born, describing it as the moment her entire life changed. She wrote that while previous birthdays had come with glam and carefully planned concepts, none of that felt right this year, explaining that this time, she was celebrating as a mother for the very first time.
Ini described her son as the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples, and reflected with deep emotion on the weeks since his arrival.
She admitted that the newborn phase had tested her in ways she had not fully anticipated, describing the period as simultaneously beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting and rewarding. She added that motherhood had revealed strengths within her that she never knew existed, and had given her a profound new appreciation for mothers everywhere.
The birth is a particularly poignant milestone for the actress given the health journey that preceded it. In 2024, Ini had publicly disclosed her battle with fibroids, sharing that three years after undergoing invasive surgery to remove them, the symptoms had returned. She had spoken candidly about choosing a holistic approach to her health, cutting out a range of foods including rice, meat, pasta and caffeine, and framing her story as one she hoped would inspire other women facing similar challenges.
Ini Dima-Okojie, who tied the knot with her husband Abasi Ene-Obong in 2022, first announced her pregnancy in April, sharing a video in a flowing white gown that showcased her baby bump and described the moment as one of grace and perfect timing. The couple had held a baby shower in February where close friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry, including Nancy Isime and Waje, gathered to celebrate the coming arrival.
The gender reveal followed in May, with the actress confirming she was expecting a boy. Wednesday’s birth announcement brings that journey to a joyful close, with an outpouring of congratulations from fans and fellow entertainers across the country.
