Katsina Police Arrest Five Suspects for Alleged Vandalism, Sale of Electric Cables

The Katsina State Police Command have arrested five suspects in connection with criminal conspiracy, theft, and the unlawful disposal of critical public infrastructure, specifically electric cables.

The state command’s tactical operatives intercepted the criminal syndicate following a tip-off and localized intelligence tracking. Security forces discovered that the suspects were systematically vandalizing and stealing vital electrical wiring and other public property in the state, which they then channeled into the black market for quick sale to illicit buyers.

The police recovered a substantial quantity of stolen armored and distribution electric cables during the raid. Law enforcement authorities noted that the systematic theft of these components has severely disrupted public utility distribution and local power supply networks across the state.

The suspects are currently in police custody undergoing interrogation to expose other regular receivers of stolen national assets and any broader network of vandals operating within the region. The state command reaffirmed its determination to clamp down aggressively on the destruction of public infrastructure, urging community residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around transformers and power lines to security agencies.
