“There Are No Polling Units on Social Media,” Governor Oyebanji Chides Critics After Re-Election Victory

Following his successful re-election at the polls, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has directly pushed back against his political critics, pointedly reminding them that elections are won in local communities and not on social media platforms.

Addressing a gathering of jubilant supporters and party faithful, the governor emphasized that the ultimate mandate to govern comes from the grassroot voters who step out to cast their ballots at polling units rather than vocal internet commentators.

Oyebanji noted that while opposition figures and critics dominated online spaces with intense narratives, his administration remained focused on impactful, local governance that directly addressed the needs of the electorate.

The governor expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ekiti State for validating his performance and granting him a renewed mandate to continue his development agenda.

He maintained that the victory serves as a clear proof that real political influence is built through consistent public engagement, community infrastructure development, and grassroots loyalty, rather than online trends and digital rhetoric.
