Adeleke Accuses APC Thugs of Attacking Osogbo Monarch

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has accused thugs backed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) of attacking the palace of the Oba of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Larooye II. The incident happened during recent violence in Osogbo, the state capital.

According to the governor, the attackers even tried to shoot the monarch during the chaos.

Adeleke described the attack as a serious assault on traditional leadership and peace in the state. He condemned the violence and called on security agencies to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.

The governor stressed that no one should be allowed to threaten the life of a respected traditional ruler.

The Oba’s palace was reportedly targeted amid growing political tension in the area. Residents and palace chiefs expressed shock over the incident, which has raised fears about the safety of traditional institutions. Many people in Osogbo are calling for calm and an end to such acts of violence.

This development highlights the dangers of political rivalry turning into physical attacks on important community leaders. Traditional rulers play key roles in maintaining peace, and any threat to them affects the entire society. The governor has promised to ensure the safety of all citizens and monarchs in the state.

As investigations continue, many hope that the matter will be handled quickly to prevent further unrest. Such incidents serve as a reminder of the need for peaceful political activities and respect for traditional authorities in Nigeria. Residents are urged to remain peaceful while security forces do their work.
