The Nigeria Democratic Congress has concluded the sale of Expression of Interest Forms for aspirants seeking to contest the presidency under its platform in the 2027 general elections.
The party also announced an extension of the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly aspirants from May 17 to May 24, 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the party’s National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu.
According to the statement, screening exercises for aspirants who have obtained and submitted their Expression of Interest Forms will commence on Tuesday and end on May 26.
The party further stated that the collection and submission of Nomination Forms for aspirants who successfully scale the screening process would begin on Wednesday and close on May 26.
The NDC said no additional extension would be granted after the new deadline, urging aspirants to strictly comply with the approved timetable and guidelines.
It directed all aspirants to attend screening and pre-qualification interviews at designated venues nationwide with required documents, including educational credentials, birth certificates or age declarations, passport photographs, voter cards, party membership cards and curriculum vitae.
The statement added that all documents submitted by aspirants must be provided in six copies.
The party explained that aspirants would be assessed based on factors such as competence, character, capacity, local considerations and the preferences of the electorate.
It also noted that the screening committee would apply the party’s affirmative action policy in favour of women, youths and persons living with disabilities.
The NDC encouraged aspirants to pursue consensus arrangements where possible, stressing that only aspirants cleared through the screening process would be eligible to obtain Nomination Forms.
