Kwankwaso Commends Tinubu, Ribadu Over New Military Deployments in Kano
Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strengthening security operations in Kano State through the establishment of a new Army battalion and an artillery regiment.
Kwankwaso also commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa; and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, for their contributions towards improving security in the state.
He described the deployment of the 24 Battalion in Tudun Wada and the 311 Artillery Regiment in Dambatta as a strategic response to emerging security challenges.
According to him, the establishment of the military formations has boosted residents’ confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
The APC chieftain noted that positioning the military formations in the two locations would improve the armed forces’ ability to respond to banditry, terrorism and other violent criminal activities threatening communities in Kano and neighbouring areas.
He said the Tinubu administration had demonstrated urgency in addressing security concerns in the state, adding that the new deployments would provide additional protection for residents and reinforce ongoing efforts by security agencies to contain criminal activities.
Kwankwaso stated that the development reflected the President’s determination to safeguard Kano and its residents.
He said the establishment of the new military formations showed that the Federal Government was prepared to take decisive steps towards protecting lives and property.
He further observed that Kano, considering its large population and economic significance, required a strong security structure capable of responding promptly to emerging threats.
He added that the newly established military formations would complement existing security arrangements across the state.
Kwankwaso maintained that the intervention had strengthened public confidence in the President’s leadership, noting that effective governance should be measured by practical actions that bring meaningful improvements to citizens’ welfare and security.
He also expressed appreciation for what he described as a major investment in the peace and stability of Kano State.
He assured that residents would continue to appreciate the Federal Government’s interventions and support its programmes.
The APC chieftain, however, called on residents of Tudun Wada, Dambatta and neighbouring communities to work closely with military personnel and provide relevant information that could assist security agencies in their operations.
He stressed that the success of the new military formations would depend not only on their operational strength but also on effective cooperation between security personnel and the communities they serve.
