Ekiti State University Gets NUC Accreditation for Six New Programmes
Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence six new academic programmes.
The approval was conveyed in a letter dated 22 October 2026, signed by the NUC Acting Director of Academic Planning, Dr Ayuba Mohammed.
A statement issued by the university on Friday listed the newly approved programmes as BA Christian Theology, BSc Transport Management, BSc Security and Investment Management, BSc Information and Communication Technology, BSc Industrial Mathematics and BSc Criminology.
The university said prospective students can apply for admission into the programmes from the 2027/2028 academic session. The approval followed a resource verification visit by panels of experts who assessed the human and material resources available for the programmes to ensure they meet national academic standards.
The NUC specified that the programmes are not authorised for part-time delivery and must retain their approved names. The university described the development as a reflection of its commitment to expanding educational opportunities and meeting the evolving needs of society and industry.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Babatola Ayodele expressed delight at the approval, calling it a significant step towards the university’s vision of academic excellence and innovation.
He also thanked Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his continued support in strengthening the institution.
