Ex-IG Adamu Warns Nasarawa Voters Against Selling PVCs Ahead of 2027

Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has warned residents of Nasarawa State, especially women, against selling their Permanent Voter Cards or accepting money meant to stop them from voting in the 2027 elections.

He said some political opponents were allegedly buying PVCs from women to reduce voter turnout.

Adamu spoke on Tuesday in Doma Local Government Area after thousands of Alago indigenes in the Nasarawa South Senatorial District endorsed him as their preferred governorship candidate. He thanked the Alago Support Group for the endorsement and expressed confidence that he would win the election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party.

The former police chief said his ambition to govern the state was driven by a desire to improve the welfare of ordinary people. He accused the current government of neglecting mothers, children and youths while focusing on issues that do not directly improve their lives.
If elected, Adamu promised to prioritise quality education, healthcare and security. He said he wanted residents to live in peace and return to their homes without fear.

Earlier, the leader of the conveners, Danjuma Joseph, said the Alago people had decided to take an active role in shaping the future of the state. He described Adamu as a man of integrity with a strong track record and historical ties to the community, and pledged that the group would mobilise support across the senatorial districts.
