Hotel Worker Dies in Abuja After Dispute, Suspect Arrested
A hotel worker, Joseph Terdoo, has died following an alleged physical confrontation with a tiler, Samuel Net, at a hotel in the Utako District of Abuja. The suspect, who was reportedly hired by the hotel, has been arrested by the FCT Police Command.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday. She said the police received a distress report at about 5am on Tuesday, October 20, after suspicious noise and activity were reported on the third floor of the hotel.
Officers from the Utako Divisional Police Headquarters were immediately sent to the scene. On arrival, they traced the noise to Room 301, where Net was found with marks of violence while Terdoo lay unconscious on the floor with multiple injuries.
Terdoo was rushed to Wuse District Hospital, where medical staff confirmed him dead on arrival. Further investigations revealed that the two men had a disagreement that escalated into a physical fight. Net allegedly pushed Terdoo, who fell, hit his head on a wooden object and collapsed.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, urged residents to avoid violence and resolve disagreements peacefully. He advised the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or contact the command’s emergency lines. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
