Tinubu to Inaugurate APC Presidential Campaign Council October 14
President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14 as the party steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu, among the party figures expected to play key roles.
Yari, who serves as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, disclosed the development on Friday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he briefed State House correspondents on the party’s campaign preparations.
He said the President had approved the proposed campaign timetable, with activities expected to begin with a rally in Kaduna on October 24.
According to the schedule, the Kaduna rally will be followed by campaign engagements in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Ahead of the council’s formal inauguration, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Edu, alongside other members of the campaign’s women mobilisation directorate, have begun efforts to organise women across the country in support of the President’s re-election bid.
The women mobilisation team has set a target of reaching 40 million women voters through a nationwide strategy covering 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The initiative is expected to involve community outreach, grassroots mobilisation and public engagement to communicate the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 to women nationwide.
The October 14 inauguration is expected to bring together APC leaders and other stakeholders to coordinate campaign operations ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The planned ceremony will precede the party’s first scheduled rally in Kaduna on October 24, marking the beginning of its proposed nationwide campaign activities.
