Troops Detain Four Suspected Terrorist Collaborators, Recover ₦4m in Monguno

Troops of Sector 3, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have apprehended four individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorists and recovered ₦4 million during an operation in Monguno, Borno State.

The suspects were arrested around 12:15 p.m. on September 13, 2026, at Charlie 7 in Monguno, following a joint operation involving the troops and CJTF personnel.

Security personnel recovered a backpack sprayer, one arrow and three mobile phones from the suspects during the operation.

A sack containing ₦4 million in cash was also discovered and seized.

The four suspects, alongside the recovered items, have been placed in military custody as investigations continue.

The operation is part of ongoing intelligence-led efforts by security agencies to locate and disrupt individuals believed to be providing support to terrorist groups operating within the Lake Chad Basin.

Security forces have also intensified surveillance, patrols and intelligence-gathering activities across Monguno and other parts of the North-East in an effort to prevent terrorist groups from accessing logistics, information and financial resources.
