Court Adjourns Suit Challenging NDC’s 2027 Candidate Nomination to September 16
The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has adjourned to Wednesday, September 16, 2026, a suit challenging the nomination of candidates by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 elections.
Justice D.E. Osiagor of the Lagos Judicial Division adjourned the matter after counsel to the plaintiffs, Monday Mawah, applied to amend the suit and join the party’s nominee, Funsho Dorothy, as a defendant.
Counsel representing the NDC, D.D. Duru, opposed the application.
Following the arguments, the court fixed Wednesday, September 16, to rule on whether Dorothy should be joined in the case.
The ruling is expected to determine the next step in the legal dispute over the NDC’s candidates for the 2027 elections.
