The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has advised newly recruited public officers to reject all forms of bribery and corruption, stressing the importance of integrity, accountability and ethical conduct in public service.

The bureau urged the officers to remain committed to transparency and professionalism throughout their careers, noting that public trust depends largely on the conduct of government officials.

According to the CCB, public servants must resist any temptation to abuse their positions for personal gain and should always act in the interest of the nation and the citizens they serve.

Officials emphasized that integrity remains a key requirement for effective public service, adding that ethical leadership and responsible decision-making are essential for combating corruption and strengthening governance.

The bureau further encouraged the officers to serve as role models within their respective institutions by adhering to established rules, maintaining discipline and promoting honesty in the discharge of their duties.

The warning comes amid ongoing efforts by anti-corruption agencies and government institutions to promote accountability and reinforce ethical standards across Nigeria’s public sector.
