UK Commits £100 Million to Strengthen Ukraine’s Air Defence
Britain’s government has announced a new commitment of £100 million to support Ukraine’s air defence systems this winter.
The funding is aimed at helping Kyiv better protect its skies during the colder months.
The package includes Patriot missiles as part of the assistance. In addition, the United Kingdom will supply air defence interceptors, large-calibre artillery rounds and drones.
The contribution forms part of a wider NATO programme designed to support Ukraine. Britain’s defence ministry confirmed the details in a statement released on Tuesday.
The move comes as Ukraine continues to face pressure on its air defences amid the ongoing conflict. Winter conditions often increase the need for reliable protection of cities and critical infrastructure.
The latest pledge adds to previous British support for Ukraine. Officials presented the funding as a practical step to help the country maintain its defensive capabilities in the months ahead.
