Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has been honoured as a Christian Youth Peace Ambassador by the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

The recognition was presented on Friday during the National Christian Youth Security Summit and Thanksgiving held in Abuja, where the organisation acknowledged Tinubu’s contributions to youth development, peacebuilding and national unity.

Tinubu was absent from the event, with former YOWICAN National Chairman/President, Belusochukwu Enwere, accepting the honour on his behalf.

In his message of appreciation, Tinubu said the award had increased his responsibility to support initiatives aimed at empowering young Nigerians, promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening national unity.

He said peace should not be understood merely as the absence of conflict, but should be built on justice, compassion, tolerance and mutual respect.

Tinubu commended YOWICAN for encouraging Christian youths to embrace responsible leadership and contribute positively to their communities.

He also urged young Nigerians to regard the country’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity as a strength rather than a source of division.

The President’s son pledged to support programmes focused on youth empowerment and the promotion of peaceful coexistence across the country.

He called on young Nigerians to work collectively towards building a country where young people have opportunities to contribute and prosper.

The award was presented as Christian youth leaders and other stakeholders gathered for the YOWICAN summit, which focused on security, leadership and nation-building.

The summit began on September 3 and is scheduled to end on September 5, 2026, in Abuja.
