Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, has asked party members not to treat those who ran against him in the primary as enemies.

Speaking in Ibadan at the unveiling of 50 APC candidates, Alli said the other aspirants should be seen as brothers and stakeholders whose structures the party still needs. Victory in 2027, he said, cannot be won by one person.

He told them to leave the primary behind. The job now is the general election. Nobody should feel locked out. His running mate, Soji Adedeji, was presented at the same event.

The appeal is the standard next chapter after a contested ticket: convert rivals into campaign assets before they drift or sit on their hands. Oyo APC has already been working a separate reconciliation track with aggrieved House of Assembly hopefuls. Whether the men who wanted Alli’s job accept the brotherhood line will show in who appears on the trail, not in the speech at Oke-Ado.
