Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued two kidnapped victims in separate operations carried out in Bassa and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

The operations were part of intensified military efforts to disrupt the activities of terrorists and other criminal groups operating across the state.

In Bassa Local Government Area, troops of Sector 3 launched a search-and-rescue operation after receiving credible information about the abduction of Ndubuisi Onuigbo.

The operation, which was conducted on Tuesday, led to the successful rescue of the victim from his abductors.

In a separate operation in Kanam Local Government Area, troops of Sector 2 encountered suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in Kukawa village in the early hours of Wednesday.

The soldiers pursued the fleeing suspects, forcing them to abandon a kidnapped victim, identified as Mallam Sambo Abdullahi.

The troops subsequently rescued Abdullahi and took him to safety.

Both rescued victims were debriefed by the military and later reunited with their families.

The Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism and decisive response during the operations.

He urged residents to remain calm and vigilant while continuing to provide security agencies with credible information that could assist ongoing operations.

The military reaffirmed its determination to disrupt criminal activities and strengthen security across Plateau State.

The latest operations form part of sustained efforts to deny terrorists and kidnappers freedom of movement while restoring lasting peace to communities across the state.
