Tinubu Renews Tenure of NTA DG, NAN MD for Another Term
President Bola Tinubu has renewed the appointments of the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, and the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ali Mohammed Ali, for another three years.
The decision was announced on Sunday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Tinubu initially appointed both media executives on October 20, 2023, with their renewed tenure set to begin on October 20, 2026.
Dembos, an indigene of Yola, Adamawa State, joined the NTA as an announcer at its Kaduna station in 1989 after completing his National Youth Service.
He subsequently held several positions within the organisation, including General Manager of NTA Lokoja and NTA Kano, before retiring in 2017 as Acting Zonal Director of the NTA Kaduna Network Centre.
Following his retirement, he served as NTA’s Executive Director of Marketing and was also a former National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers Union.
The Presidency said the renewal reflects confidence in the leadership of both media organisations as they continue in their respective roles for another three-year term.
