The Oyo State Government has congratulated the state Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, on his election as President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

The Acting Governor, Bayo Lawal, described Olabiyi-Agoro’s emergence as a significant development for the Association, saying his experience, exposure and commitment to workers’ welfare would contribute to advancing PENGASSAN.

Lawal spoke in a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan.

He described Olabiyi-Agoro as a worthy ambassador of Oyo State whose achievements reflect the state’s tradition of excellence.

The Acting Governor also commended the new PENGASSAN president for his longstanding commitment to labour unionism and efforts to improve workers’ welfare.

According to Lawal, Olabiyi-Agoro’s emergence is a testament to the quality of leadership produced by the state and an opportunity for him to deploy his experience to strengthen the association.

He assured that the Makinde administration would continue to maintain a cordial relationship with labour unions and their leaders in the state.

Lawal said the partnership would remain focused on improving workers’ welfare while promoting effective governance and the overall development of Oyo State.
