The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued 75 travellers, including men, women and children, who were abducted by armed men in the Birnin Gwari area of the state.

The victims were travelling in commercial buses when they were attacked and taken into captivity near Folwaya Village.

Following the incident, the police launched an operation to locate the abducted travellers and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Security operatives reportedly pursued the kidnappers into the forest, forcing them to abandon the victims and flee from the area.

All 75 victims were subsequently rescued and taken to safety.

The police command said efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest the fleeing suspects involved in the abduction.

The rescued victims are expected to receive necessary attention and support following their release.

The police also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide useful information that could assist security agencies in tracking criminal elements operating within the area.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and combating kidnapping and other forms of criminal activity across Kaduna State.

Security agencies are expected to sustain operations in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure that those responsible for the abduction are brought to justice.
