APC Defeats Adeleke in Campaign DG Oluwole Oke’s Polling Unit

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a decisive victory at the polling unit of its Osun State governorship campaign Director-General, Oluwole Oke, in Saturday’s election.

At Polling Unit 018, Ward 7, Obokun Local Government Area, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji polled 336 votes, defeating Accord Party candidate and incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who received 45 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured two votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) recorded one. The polling unit had 384 valid votes.

Oke, a five-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency, voted at the unit earlier in the day. He has played a leading role in the APC’s campaign for the governorship election.

The APC campaign chief had, on August 4, criticised Adeleke over comments he described as inflammatory and seditious, following the governor’s appeal to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in alleged political violence and intimidation ahead of the election.

Oke also dismissed Adeleke’s claim that the Federal Government had withheld statutory allocations belonging to Osun State’s 30 local government areas.

The APC candidate, Oyebamiji, is contesting against Adeleke and 13 other candidates, including the ADC’s Najeem Salaam.
