Wike Dismisses Reports of Lobbying for APC Campaign Director-General Position
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has refuted media reports claiming he is actively lobbying to serve as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.
In an official statement released on Monday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, Wike described the reports as completely false, clarifying that he has not held any discussions with party leadership regarding positions within the campaign council.
Wike reiterated his firm backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection bid, stating that his primary commitment remains executing the administration’s policy priorities and securing solid electoral victories for the President in Rivers State and the FCT.
He emphasized that holding a formal title or position within the APC’s campaign organization is not a requirement for him to mobilize support and deliver strong results for the President in upcoming elections.
