Troops-Arrest-Suspected-Kidnapper-in-Kaduna, Hunt for Gang Members

 

 

Troops have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of involvement in a recent kidnapping in Kaduna State.

 

Buba Ali was apprehended Sunday at about 12:45 p.m. in Binawa village, Kauru Local Government Area, during a joint operation by troops of Sector 7 Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

 

Security sources linked Ali to the abduction of Alhaji Tasi, a resident of the village. Following the arrest, Ali was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated.

 

“The suspect was apprehended during a joint operation conducted by troops of Sector 7 OPEP and members of the CJTF,” the Nigerian Army said in a statement posted on X. “Following his arrest, Ali was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated by security personnel”.

 

Authorities said the ongoing investigation is focused on obtaining information that could lead to the identification and arrest of other members of the suspected kidnapping gang.

Details regarding when Alhaji Tasi was abducted or whether he has been rescued remain unclear.
