Abiodun Condoles Kemi Adeosun Over Husband’s Death
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has visited former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, to offer his condolences following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi “Niyi” Adeosun.
Niyi Adeosun, a businessman and Christian, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos at the age of 62.
Abiodun disclosed the visit in a statement on Monday, saying he met with Adeosun, her children and members of the family to sympathise with them over the loss.
The governor described the deceased as a respected businessman who was committed to his faith, family and service, noting that his death represented a significant loss to both his family and people who knew him.
“His passing is undoubtedly a great loss, not only to his immediate family but also to all those whose lives he touched,” Abiodun said.
He prayed for God to comfort the bereaved family and give them the strength to cope with the loss.
Abiodun also prayed for the repose of the deceased, asking God to grant him eternal rest.
The Adeosun family had earlier announced Niyi’s death in a statement signed by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.
The statement, titled “Announcement of the Passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” described him as a reputable businessman and devoted Christian who positively influenced the lives of those around him.
