‘ God Answered My Prayers’ — Woman Rejoices Over First Child After 14 Years, Says ‘God Answered My Prayer’
A Nigerian woman, Abigail Martins, has celebrated the birth of her first child after 14 years of marriage, describing the moment as the fulfilment of years of prayers and unwavering faith.
Martins announced the arrival of her baby in a Facebook post on Thursday, where she shared maternity photographs and expressed gratitude to God for what she called the end of a long season of waiting.
In her post, she reflected on the emotional challenges she faced during the years she and her husband waited to become parents, revealing that she endured ridicule, criticism and hurtful remarks from some people because of her inability to conceive.
She said she was repeatedly called names and accused of deliberately avoiding pregnancy, while others wrongly attributed her childlessness to different personal reasons.
Despite the painful experiences, Martins said she never lost hope and remained confident that her prayers would eventually be answered.
Expressing her joy, she announced the birth of her baby and thanked God for granting her family the long-awaited blessing after 14 years of marriage.
She also used the opportunity to encourage women who are still believing God for children to remain hopeful and steadfast in faith.
According to her, her testimony is a reminder that difficult seasons do not last forever, urging couples facing similar challenges not to give up hope.
Her post has since attracted congratulatory messages and prayers from friends, relatives and social media users celebrating the family’s new addition.
