Davido Reacts After Edo Governor Mocks Adeleke During Osun Campaign
Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has seemingly responded to comments made by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, by posting what appeared to be the governor’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result on his Instagram Stories.
Although the music star did not include any explanation with the post shared on Friday, it was widely viewed as a reaction to remarks Okpebholo made about Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during a political campaign.
The social media post followed the Edo governor’s appearance at an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Osun State, where he criticised Governor Adeleke’s frequent dancing and questioned his approach to governance.
Addressing party supporters at the rally held in support of the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, Okpebholo suggested that Adeleke devoted more attention to dancing than official duties.
The rally was attended by several APC leaders, including Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Okpebholo also urged voters to accept money from political opponents but cast their ballots for the APC candidate in the August 15 governorship election.
Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, has remained actively involved in the governor’s re-election campaign, participating in campaign activities and publicly calling for a peaceful, credible and transparent electoral process in Osun State.
The latest exchange adds to the growing political tension ahead of the state’s governorship election, with campaigns intensifying across party lines.
