Security forces have heightened patrols and security presence in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State after suspected armed militia members attacked herders and killed four cattle in the area.

Following the incident, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN and joint security operatives moved swiftly into the community to calm rising tensions and prevent potential reprisal attacks between local groups.

Security personnel have commenced routine patrols, engaged community leaders and stakeholders, and launched search operations to track down the perpetrators responsible for the attack.

Military and local authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the general area, urging residents and herders to exercise restraint and allow law enforcement agencies to handle the situation.
