Troops of Operation Enduring Peace operating in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State have seized 28 livestock including 23 cattle and 10 rams found grazing in restricted areas, alongside five cattle caught destroying farmlands in separate enforcement operations.

In the first incident, security personnel intercepted 23 cattle and 10 rams grazing in a restricted zone at Telengpat village, prompting troops to move the animals to a secure location and contact the local Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) youth leader to identify the owners. Shortly after, troops responded to a distress call at Lamor village regarding the destruction of crops on a local farm owned by Mr. Felix Garba, where they impounded five unattended cattle grazing on the cultivation.

Military authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate the owners of the livestock to ensure appropriate administrative action and conflict-resolution procedures are followed.

Security forces highlighted that the enforcement patrols form part of proactive measures to prevent illegal grazing, safeguard farmlands during the farming season, and curb farmer-herder friction across Plateau State.
