Kano Delegation Condoles Sokoto Over Death of Alhaji Alhaji
A delegation from the Kano State Government has paid a condolence visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, over the death of the Sardaunan Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji. The visit was undertaken on behalf of Governor Abba Yusuf.
The team was led by Deputy Governor Murtala Garo and included the Secretary to the State Government, the Emir of Rano, the state APC chairman, and other senior officials.
They first visited the residence of the late traditional titleholder to convey the governor’s sympathy to the bereaved family.
The deceased’s first son, Aminu Abubakar, received the delegation and expressed appreciation for the show of solidarity during the family’s period of mourning. The team later proceeded to the Sultan’s palace to deliver the formal condolence message.
The Sultan thanked Governor Yusuf for the gesture, describing it as a reflection of the enduring unity and brotherhood among the people of Northern Nigeria. The delegation also visited the Sokoto State Government House to extend condolences to the state government and people.
In his message, Governor Yusuf prayed that Allah forgives the late Sardaunan Sokoto’s shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He described the deceased as a respected elder whose contributions to the Sultanate and Northern Nigeria would continue to be remembered.
