FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike Approves Promotion of 3,592 Civil Servants
Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission. Announcing the development, Commission Chairman Emeka Ezeh highlighted that the approval forms part of activities marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, aligning workforce progression with ongoing infrastructural transformations across the territory.
The promotion process followed structured civil service evaluations, with senior officers taking their promotional examinations from July 1 to July 3, while junior staff sat for their examinations on July 10. Ezeh commended Wike for providing the institutional support required to conduct the examinations seamlessly and merit-based across the administration.
In addition to approving the 2025 elevations, Wike directed the commission to immediately initiate the 2026 promotion exercise. The directive aims to ensure that all eligible FCT personnel are evaluated and promoted on schedule without administrative delays, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to employee welfare, professional career development, and public service efficiency.
