Nigerian rapper, Zlatan Ibile and his longtime partner, Davita have put months of speculation to rest by announcing that they are indeed married and are now preparing for a public wedding celebration.

The confirmation comes after the singer had earlier denied any marriage rumours, insisting that Davita was simply the mother of his children rather than his wife.

The announcement was made in a video that surfaced online, showing the couple aboard a private jet en route to the wedding of fellow celebrity Soso Soberekon, in the company of stars including Toke Makinwa and Teni. In the clip, Davita is heard inviting those on board to the couple’s upcoming celebration, a moment that quickly spread across social media and reignited excitement among fans who had long suspected the pair had already tied the knot.

Reports had circulated as far back as May that Zlatan and Davita held a private civil wedding, with photos and videos from the low key ceremony leaked online by a decorator involved in the event. At the time, the couple did not publicly confirm the union, though earlier clues, including Davita adding Zlatan’s surname to her Instagram profile and the pair being pictured flaunting matching rings, had already fuelled talk of a secret marriage. Zlatan had previously dismissed such claims as unverified social media gossip.

The pair, who share two sons together, have been together for several years, with Zlatan known for his private but affectionate gestures towards Davita, including supporting her at her university graduation and surprising her with lavish gifts in the past.
