Fuji Icon, K1 De Ultimate in High Demand, Women Deliberately Seek His Children, Claims Former Manager
Ayo Shonaiya, who once managed Fuji music legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has made a startling claim that women knowingly and willingly pursue having children with the veteran singer, describing the phenomenon as a kind of prized keepsake rather than an accident.
Shonaiya shared his thoughts on social media, painting the musician as a figure whose life and influence over women defies ordinary understanding.
He explained that many women view bearing a child for the Fuji legend as something akin to carrying a piece of his legacy, likening it to owning a treasured souvenir. He went further to insist that this is not a thing of the past, stressing that even now there are women waiting patiently for what he called their turn to become pregnant by the singer, and that only those who have spent considerable time around K1 can truly grasp the unusual dynamics that surround him.
The comments arrive at a sensitive moment for the 68 year old musician, who is currently at the centre of a paternity controversy after a woman identified as Ogechi publicly accused him of fathering her 12 year old daughter and failing to take responsibility for the child. Ogechi, who described herself as a former pedicurist who worked closely with the singer, alleged that their relationship lasted about seven years and that K1 had urged her to terminate the pregnancy when she conceived, an appeal she says she ignored.
The teenager at the centre of the claims has also spoken out publicly, appealing to the musician for recognition and support.
K1 De Ultimate, known in Yoruba tradition as the Mayegun of Yorubaland, has built a career spanning more than four decades and remains one of Nigeria’s most influential Fuji performers, with a famously large family that includes children who have gone on to build careers in law, medicine, business and politics. He has previously spoken candidly about the many relationships he has had over the years, once admitting that he left behind women along with the children they shared, and joking that such children were the lasting memories of those unions.
As the paternity saga continues to generate reactions across social media, neither K1 nor his management has issued any formal statement addressing the fresh allegations directly.
