Eddie Hearn Insists Fury-Joshua Fight Must Hold in UK Under Current Deal

Promoter, Eddie Hearn has insisted that the highly anticipated fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua must take place in the United Kingdom under the terms of the existing contract.

The deal was signed three months ago and specifies a UK venue.

Saudi boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh is reportedly interested in staging the bout at a time that would draw the biggest global audience. There has also been talk of moving the fight to Madison Square Garden in New York.

Hearn, who promotes Joshua, said the boxer specifically requested a British fight. He stressed that any change of location would require renegotiation of the legally binding agreement.

Joshua himself has made it clear that Wembley Stadium in London is the only suitable venue. He said the iconic stadium has the history and atmosphere needed for such a major British clash.

The fight is expected to take place in October or November. Both boxers recently scored wins in separate bouts, keeping the long-awaited showdown on track. Fans in Britain are hoping the contest remains on home soil.
