Soldier Warns Colleagues Against Stripping Killed Terrorists of Items

A Nigerian soldier has shared a strong warning to fellow military personnel: never take anything from those killed during operations against bandits, terrorists, or kidnappers.

In a widely shared video, the soldier recounted being shot in the head at Jilli and another location in Maiduguri, attributing his survival to avoiding such practices.

He emphasised that he has no juju or charms but believes taking items from the dead brings bad luck and danger. The soldier advised strict adherence to duty without personal gain from the battlefield.

The message has resonated with many, especially those familiar with operations in the northeast. Comments show support for the advice, with some sharing similar stories from the frontlines.

Others see it as an important ethical reminder for troops in active combat zones.

The video comes at a time when security forces continue intense operations against insurgents across Nigeria. The soldier’s experience highlights the risks and superstitions that sometimes influence behaviour in high-stress environments.

Many viewers praised the soldier for speaking out and urged others to heed the warning for their safety and professionalism. The clip continues to circulate widely on social media.
