President Tinubu Appoints Former Governor Ayo Fayose as Board Chairman of Rural Electrification Agency

President Bola Tinubu has approved 26 federal appointments across 10 government agencies and commissions, announced on Monday, July 20, 2026, through a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Under the Rural Electrification Agency, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose was appointed as Chairman of the Governing Board. Joining the board as Non-Executive Directors are Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, serving alongside incumbent Managing Director Abba Abubakar Aliyu and three existing executive directors.

For the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Retired Major General Junaid Bindawa was appointed as Chairman, with Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas serving as Secretary. The commission also welcomed Commissioners Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian representing Benue State, Oladele Olatubosun representing Oyo State, and Yakubu Umar Barde representing Kaduna State. Additional members appointed include Dr. Mai Adamu Yau from Borno State, Ginika Florence Tor from Enugu State, Engineer Lawrence Okoh from Edo State, and Bello Morenike Iyabode from Kogi State.

In other key leadership changes, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju was appointed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission following his redeployment from the National Lottery Trust Fund. Dr. Abuh Mohammed was named Director-General of the National Population Commission, while Dr. Akinola Odeyemi assumed the role of Managing Director at the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc. Furthermore, Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, and Engineer Julius Oloro was named Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization in Kwara State.
