Register Before INEC Deadline, Kano NDC Governorship Candidate Charges Youths, Women
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, has urged eligible residents, particularly youths and women, to register as voters before the July 24 deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, Gwarzo encouraged prospective voters to take advantage of INEC’s newly introduced online self-service registration platform, which allows first-time applicants to begin and complete their registration remotely using their National Identification Number (NIN).
He said the initiative eliminates the need for long queues at registration centres and makes it easier for citizens to participate in the electoral process.
According to Gwarzo, voting remains one of the most effective ways for citizens to shape the country’s democratic future, urging Nigerians not to miss the opportunity to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He particularly appealed to young people and women to embrace the exercise, describing the PVC as a vital instrument for driving positive change in their communities and across the country.
The NDC candidate also advised eligible citizens to complete their online pre-registration, undergo biometric capture where required and collect their PVCs once they become available.
Gwarzo further called on community leaders, religious bodies, youth associations and civil society organisations to mobilise residents to participate in the voter registration exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
