UBA Doles over N400 Million to Customers in Anniversary Savings Bonuses

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has rewarded thousands of customers with more than N400 million in anniversary bonuses under its flagship UBA Bumper Account, reaffirming its commitment to promoting a culture of savings and rewarding customer loyalty.

The bank announced that the cash rewards were distributed to eligible customers whose UBA Bumper Accounts reached their anniversary, describing the initiative as one of the largest customer appreciation exercises under the savings product.

According to UBA, the Bumper Account is designed to encourage disciplined savings by offering customers annual cash bonuses in addition to opportunities to participate in periodic promotional draws.

Speaking on the initiative, UBA's Head of Retail Products, Tomiwa Sotiloye, said the milestone reflects the bank's dedication to delivering value to customers while fostering healthy financial habits.

"At UBA, we believe customer loyalty deserves meaningful recognition. Every bonus paid is our way of appreciating customers who continue to trust us with their financial aspirations.

Crossing the N400 million mark in anniversary rewards demonstrates our commitment to building products that create lasting financial value for our customers," he said.

Also commenting, the bank's Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo described the anniversary bonuses as part of UBA's customer-first philosophy.

She said the initiative underscores the bank's resolve to reward customers for maintaining consistent savings while strengthening financial inclusion across its markets.

"The anniversary bonus is more than just a cash reward; it reflects our appreciation for customers who have remained committed to their savings goals.

We will continue to introduce innovative products that support financial growth and improve customer experience," Ladipo said.

The bank noted that the UBA Bumper Account is open to both new and existing customers and can be accessed through its branches, digital banking platforms, the UBA Mobile App, and the *919# USSD service.

UBA said the initiative aligns with its broader retail banking strategy aimed at encouraging savings, enhancing financial resilience among customers, and expanding access to banking services across Africa.

The lender, which operates in 20 African countries as well as the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates and the United States, said it remains committed to developing innovative financial products that reward customers while driving inclusive economic growth.
