A 40-year-old man named AbdulRauf Ambali has been arrested in Alapa, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, for allegedly abusing his 14-year-old biological daughter.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command made the arrest following reports from concerned members of the public. The suspect is accused of repeated sexual abuse, incest, and even procuring an abortion for the minor.

The incident has caused widespread shock and anger in the community. Authorities acted swiftly after receiving credible information about the abuse. The young girl is currently receiving medical attention and psychological support to help her recover from the trauma she endured.

NSCDC officials have confirmed that the suspect admitted to some of the allegations during questioning. The case highlights the painful reality of child abuse within families and the need for stronger protection for vulnerable children. Investigations are ongoing to ensure all facts are established before the matter proceeds to court.

Child rights groups and residents in Kwara State have condemned the act, calling for justice to be served without delay. They are also urging families and communities to be more vigilant and report any suspected cases of abuse immediately. This arrest serves as a reminder that no one is above the law when it comes to protecting children.

The Kwara State Government and security agencies have promised to handle the case with seriousness. As the investigation continues, many hope that the victim will receive full support and that this will discourage others from committing similar crimes. This unfortunate event has sparked calls for better awareness and enforcement of child protection laws across the state.
