Another Self-Kidnapping Busted as Lady Begs Nigerians for Forgiveness

A young woman who recently cried out for help, claiming her mother had been kidnapped, has now confessed that the entire story was a lie. She had appealed to Nigerians to donate 50 million naira to rescue her biological mother. But police investigations revealed that the mother was never in danger at all.

The lady, whose name has not been publicly released, made a tearful video a few days ago begging for funds. She said her mother had been taken by kidnappers and that time was running out. Many compassionate Nigerians responded by sending donations, believing they were helping to save a life.

Unfortunately for her, the Nigerian Police launched an investigation into the matter. Officers discovered that the mother was not kidnapped. Instead, she was safely staying with her boyfriend, and she was reportedly part of the plan to stage her own disappearance. The goal was simply to extort money from the general public.

In a new video circulating online, the young woman apologised deeply. “Nigerians, please forgive me,” she said. “I only cried out as a daughter who doesn’t want her mum to be killed. I didn’t know anything about this plan. I am deeply sorry and sad.” She promised to keep the public updated as the case progresses.

This incident marks yet another case of self-kidnapping designed to scam well-meaning citizens. The police have not disclosed what charges the mother and daughter may face. Nigerians are once again reminded to be cautious when responding to emotional pleas online, as some people are willing to lie about serious crimes just to get money.
