IG Disu Pledges Police Protection for Major Infrastructure Projects

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has visited the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja. During the meeting, he promised that the police will provide full security for important national projects across the country. This move aims to ensure that construction works go on smoothly without interference from criminals or vandals.

Disu met with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and the Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo. They discussed ongoing projects, especially the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other major road constructions.

The police chief assured them that officers will be deployed to protect these sites and the workers involved.
The visit highlights the need for better cooperation between security agencies and government ministries. Many big projects have faced attacks, theft of materials, and other security challenges in the past. With this new pledge, the government hopes to reduce such problems and speed up development.

Olatunji Disu stated that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to give strong support to critical infrastructure. He stressed that protecting these projects is important for national growth and better connectivity across the country. Both sides agreed to work more closely to tackle any threats that could slow down progress.

This development brings hope for faster completion of key projects that will benefit Nigerians. With police protection assured, contractors and workers can now focus better on delivering quality roads and infrastructure. Many citizens welcome this step as a positive way to support the country’s development goals.
