Churches Urged to Focus More on Helping Communities
Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, son of renowned preacher Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has called on churches to put greater effort into helping their communities.
He made this statement during a special summit organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God Youth Province 1 in Lekki, Lagos.
According to him, showing care through real actions is at the heart of true Christianity and can also help churches grow stronger.
Speaking at the CSR Summit 2026, Leke Adeboye reminded church leaders that faith should not be limited to prayers and worship alone. He pointed to Bible teachings about feeding the hungry and caring for the needy as a guide. He believes that when churches solve real problems in society, more people will be drawn to them naturally.
The event brought together many pastors and leaders to discuss ways churches can make a bigger difference. They talked about creating lasting projects like rehabilitation centres, skill training programmes, and health support instead of just giving out food items from time to time. One leader shared how their province had already spent millions on feeding people weekly and supporting education.
Participants at the summit expressed excitement about starting new projects in their own areas. These include helping prisoners, supporting mental health, and running empowerment schemes for young people. Church officials also announced big future plans, such as building a large theatre and a special medical unit to serve more people.
This message comes as a strong reminder for religious groups across Nigeria. By focusing on community needs, churches can become true agents of positive change. Many hope this approach will not only strengthen faith but also build a better society for everyone.
