Mourinho Nears Real Madrid Return on Two-Year Deal
Real Madrid is reportedly close to reappointing José Mourinho as head coach after both parties reached a verbal agreement over a proposed two-year contract.
Multiple reports on Monday indicated that the Portuguese manager had agreed terms with the Spanish club, with only the completion of formal documentation remaining before the deal is finalised.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano disclosed in a post on X that Mourinho is expected to travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s final La Liga game against Athletic Bilbao to conclude the remaining procedures ahead of an official announcement.
According to the report, the agreement would see Mourinho return to the Santiago Bernabéu for a second stint more than a decade after his first spell with the club.
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning the La Liga title, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup during his time in charge.
Although the club has yet to officially confirm the appointment, expectations are growing among supporters over the return of one of football’s most prominent managers.
Real Madrid are expected to make a formal statement once contractual formalities have been completed.
