Senator Kaka Lawan Disburses ₦135.6m to Borno Central APC Executives

The Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), has distributed ₦135,650,000 in cash to All Progressives Congress (APC) executives within his constituency ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In a statement disclosed by the lawmaker’s legislative assistant, Usman Alkali, the multi-million naira intervention was shared across the senatorial district to assist party leaders with their festive preparations. Alkali noted that the gesture serves as an appreciation for the executives’ unwavering commitment to strengthening democracy and upholding party principles at the grassroots level.

“Senator representing Borno Central, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), distributed cash to APC executives in his Borno Central constituency, totalling ₦135,650,000 to help them celebrate the upcoming Eid-Kabir festival,” Alkali stated, adding that the funds were handed out to the beneficiaries.

This financial package marks the third time Senator Lawan has provided large-scale welfare support to party executives since his election to the National Assembly.

The lawmaker has maintained a consistent track record of constituency interventions, having previously executed massive empowerment initiatives featuring vehicles, machinery, and financial grants to cushion economic challenges for thousands of constituents.

The timing of the disbursement also coincides with strategic political alignments within the Borno State APC chapter. Senator Lawan recently withdrew from the state’s gubernatorial race to endorse Mustapha Gubio, the candidate backed by Governor Babagana Zulum. The decision followed a high-level party stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, where it was resolved that Lawan would step down from the governor’s race to retain his influential seat in the Senate and safeguard party cohesion.
